Welcome to the Project GWE Development Series.

GWE (GW-Exfiltrator) is a tool designed to support Red Team operators in testing and validating different methods of data exfiltration. The project is closely aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, specifically focusing on exfiltration TTPs, and provides a structured way to explore how adversaries might attempt to remove data from a target environment.

The aim of GWE is not only to replicate known techniques, but also to give operators a practical platform to test, evaluate, and refine defensive controls against them. By mapping directly to ATT&CK TTPs, the tool enables exercises that are both realistic and measurable, bridging the gap between theoretical threat models and hands-on operational testing. GWE serves as both a Red Team capability and a research project, bringing clarity and repeatability to an area of testing that is often complex and inconsistent across engagements.
